Rubbish is illegally dumped somewhere in Britain every 35 seconds on average, with the problem costing millions to clean up, government figures suggest.
영국이 쓰레기 불법 투기에 대해 몸살을 앓고 있네요.
저번 집에서 누가 남기고 간 고물 모니터를 사용하여 조금이나마 나의 주머니 사정을 돌보아 주었는데 이번에 과감히 투자하여 LCD 모니터를 산 이후 이녀석이 애물단지가 되어버렸네요.
나도 잠시 위에처럼 fly-tipper 할까 생각도 해보고 혹시나 다른 쓰레기와 함께 수거하지 않을까 해서 같이 놓아 보았는데 모니터만 홀로 집앞에 놓여 있어 지금 현재 몇달째 뒷뜰에 계속 방치해 두고 있습니다.
그런데 오늘 city council 홈페이지에 가보니 전화로 문의하면 무료로 수거해 간다고 적혀있네요.

The Council collects household waste once a week from the black bags, bins and recycling boxes provided or from the common bins of blocks of flats:
Bulky items will not be collected with household waste, but the Council will collect them separately if you call and make arrangements. Up to three items plus a fridge/freezer will be taken free.
